a. Negotiations: Peg/ Carolyn
The Feb. 28 th paycheck should reflect the recent salary increase approved by the board retroactive to July 2005. Joe Minildi will be 20% release time of for the purpose of negotiations research. The board negotiates solely with the Negotiations team of 6 members, not the president. Currently, the team is committed to bringing PVUSD salaries to the top 25% of like districts.

b. C.O.P.E.: Francisco
Recommendation to follow CFT in the endorsement of Ana Ventura-Phares for district 28 Senate seat.

• i. Future Endorsement process procedure for member input is in the works: questionnaires and candidates' answers will be sent to building reps, a forum of candidates will be held with a straw poll vote afterward, COPE will recommend to Ecouncil based on straw poll. Upcoming elections:

  1. County Office of Ed. Superintendent June ‘06
  2. Trustee races Nov '06

  • 1/2 day PAL retreat in May to revise district beliefs, guiding principles, behaviors: May 23, 1:00/ 3:30
  • Bring to members to consider changing dental benefits: If $20 co-pay, raise coverage limit to $2,000.

a. Guest: Ana Ventura-Phares
Ana is running for the 28 th district seat in the Senate to replace Simon Salinas. Ana answers questions and is receptive to input on education issues. Primary election is June 6 th . E-mail address: venturaphares@aol.com
