Know Your Contract: Grievances, The purpose of this grievance procedure shall be used to provide an orderly and expedited process for the resolution of grievances. The definition of a “grievance” is an alleged violation, misinterpretation or misapplication of the terms of the contract. Prior to initiating a formal written grievance, the potential grievant shall meet with their immediate supervisor and attempt to resolve the potential grievance informally no later than 20 days after the grievant knew or could have known, of the event or circumstances occasioning grievance. If the informal procedure does not resolve the difficulty, the Informal Level will be considered concluded when the immediate supervisor or the grievant so informs the other in writing. If the informal discussion does not resolve the grievance to the satisfaction of the grievant, a formal grievance may be initiated by the grievant. The formal written grievance shall be filed on forms provided by the District with the immediate supervisor or, in his/her absence, at the Superintendent's Office no later than 10 days after the Informal Grievance procedure has been concluded. An additional 10 days may be granted, upon mutual agreement . The immediate supervisor or the Superintendent's office shall promptly acknowledge receipt of the grievance.

CFT has passed a resolution boycotting Coca-Cola products. CFT, in solidarity with our union brothers and sisters fighting for basic democratic and trade union rights, calls upon CFT members to avoid purchasing Coca-Cola products. It further encourages Locals to not serve these products at meetings. Therefore, we will no longer be serving Coca-Cola products at PVFT meetings.
